saturday night at a bar
robert’s invited you out to another bar that you don’t recognize from the exterior. you’re sitting together, waiting for the few drinks that you’ve ordered, and he starts to light a cigarette next to you. there’s a song you can’t recognize playing on a distant speaker. occasionally, some dishes will clink or loud thunder will clap, startling you back into reality. instead of talking, you both seem to be absorbing the atmosphere around you. you know he isn’t one for small talk, and you don’t mind. the silence is better when you’re with him.
