Raphael's Kitchen
As the water boils and the kettles scream, Thomas remembers his days as a young priest cooking for the church. Memories flood as the ache of pain clouds his mind. "Thomas?" A soft, melodic voice flows from behind his shoulder, pulling him back. "Let it pass. Moments will disappear like the waves of a river, downstream." Thomas takes a calm breath in and lets it out. "'For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self control.'" He is at peace, pushing the memories away as the timer goes off.
