Valentine’s Day at Madam Puddifoot’s Tea Shop

Hogsmede trips were really, other than DA meetings, one of the few things about Hogwarts at the moment that felt enjoyable at the moment. You’d been eager to get out of the castle for a while; at least Umbridge wouldn’t be able to breath down your neck here. Just as well, really, seeing as you’d invited Remus Lupin to meet you. The door chimed, and instantly you turned your head to it; Lupin had seemingly missed the worst of the rain, the shoulders and cloak of his hood slightly damp, but nothing compared to the downpour outside. You waved him over, and he waited until he’d sat down before lowering his hood.
‘Abismal out there,’ he smiled warmly, ‘how are you?’
‘Better now. I was worried you wouldn’t come,’ You said, slightly guiltily.
‘Admittedly, so was I. Alas, I thought it important to ... talk,’ He smiled again, looking around the cafe. Roger Davies was sat opposite a girl who seemed to be chewing his face off, and as you scanned the room it was clear that most of the occupants seemed to be ... well, couples. You awkwardly averted your eyes, looking intently at the table. Of course it was Valentine’s Day.
‘Interesting venue,’ Lupin said finally, smirking. You made an awkwardly dismissive ‘hmph’, you knew you should’ve chosen the Three Broomsticks.
‘I didn’t - it’s not because - I just thought it would be - ‘
‘It’s fine,’
‘- quiet.’
‘Yes,’
‘Yep.’ You pursed your lips awkwardly, eyes darting from couple to couple.
‘I heard about the,’ He mouthed “D. A”, catiously throwing a glance over his shoulder. This was why you’d asked him to meet - you thought, mentally scolding yourself - not for a quick Valentine’s catch up.
