Awkward Elevator
Beside her was the volunteer taking her up several floors of the hospital on the almost disturbingly silent elevator. She shifts in her seat while keeping her eyes fixed on the personal effects kept in a bag on her lap. The volunteer shifts her weight every once in a while, but doesn't even bother with any words of encouragement. Unsure of what awaits her on the other side of those doors, her heart beat pounds in her head, and she tries to steady her breathing. The quiet ride seems to last an eternity.
